Dominating the plain of the Durance on the Southern slope of the Luberon, Domaine de Fontenille is one of the rare Provençal properties which have retained their original appearance.
The vineyard in Fontenille dates from the beginning of the 17th century. Promoting sustainable agriculture and certified organic, our 39ha vineyard benefits from the latest vinification techniques in a new cellar with traditional architecture. Rounded concrete vats placed in a semicircle, rows of stainless-steel vats plunging into the cellar of wooden barrels, the different types of vinification are presented thanks to the specific treatment of the interior spaces.
Domaine de Fontenille benefits from an exceptional terroir. With a Luberon PDO grape-variety, the vineyard draws its strength from clay-limestone and stony soils. The slopes provide perfect sun exposure and better water drainage. The mistral naturally cleanses the grapes. The vineyard is managed in such a way as to minimize treatments and bring the grapes to the best possible maturity while respecting their natural cycles.
